FAQ's

How do we view and select our images?

 

You will receive a password protected web gallery within 24 hours of the shoot. All you'll need to do is favorite the image(s) you want retouched directly on the web gallery and those images will be retouched and uploaded to a separate folder on the site. To view a sample gallery, use the password 'sample' and click here .

Will the retouched images have a watermark on them?

 

No. Your retouched images will not have a watermark on them. The images in the proofing album will have a watermark on them, as seen in the sample gallery.

What is a "look" or a "wardrobe change?"

 

To make the most out of a photo session, a client will opt to have their photo taken in different outfits or different hairstyles, ultimately to use each for a different purpose. You are welcome to bring different wardrobe options to your shoot. I am also happy to advise you ahead of time what I feel might work best for you!

Speaking of wardrobe, what do you recommend? What do you suggest avoiding?

 

At the end of the day, your face and presence is what needs to shine in the photo. So as a general rule of thumb, for professional headshots, avoid wearing anything that would be distracting. I always suggest solid colors as opposed to patterns (unless the pattern isn't distracting). As well, you should wear something that you're comfortable in, that makes you feel good. Because if you are uncomfortable, it may come through in the photo. Keeping with this direction, if you have light skin, stay away from clothes that are dark/black, and conversely, if you have dark skin avoid white or very light colors. If we do a "studio" look, chances are we will shoot against a grey or white background, so think about what looks good on you and what will look good against that shade. And if we go outside, think about what pairs well with the environment. All in all, you have to be comfortable. And you are welcome to reach out to us with simple smartphone photos of wardrobe ahead of time so we can help you determine what might look best.

Can you explain your pricing a little more?

 

When it comes to headshots, your final image(s) are what matter. That's what you are buying, essentially. So our pricing reflects what we have found to be the most flexible for our clients. And while there is no "sitting fee" charged for a session, there is a 1-image minimum purchase for sessions in our studio, and there is a 2-image minimum purchase if we come to your location.

 

For lifestyle shoots, it's a little different, and therefore we take it on a case by case basis. Typically there are substantially more images delivered in a lifestyle session and thus included in the session fee. Please reach out to us and let us know what you are interested in doing and we will customize the session to fit your needs and budget.

What forms of payment do you accept?

 

We accept cash, check, Paypal, and Venmo.

Who will be my photographer?

 

Your photographer will be Brian Friedman. Brian has been a full-time professional photographer for over 15 years. You can see his full body of work by clicking here!

Do you offer hair and makeup services? Is it necessary?

 

Yes, we do offer hair and makeup. Just reach out to us and we will accommodate your needs! And no, we don't feel it's necessary if you have a good handle on hair and makeup. There is a private bathroom available to you if you come to our studio so you can always see yourself and do any necessary touchups before and during the shoot!
